Details: This image is based on the Enneagram, a nine-pointed symbol used in sacred geometry. The symbol consists of a circle with nine equidistant points connected by lines in a specific pattern representing the decimal equivalents of 1/7, 2/7, 3/7, 4/7, 5/7, and 6/7. The resulting figure forms an intricate star-like pattern that represents these mathematical relationships and was historically used in esoteric and mystical traditions. The symbol predates and is distinct from the modern personality typing system, though the latter borrowed its name and nine-point structure. I have always found the Enneagram to be conceptually interesting, but somewhat unattractive as a symbol. This image, as well as a few others on this site, are an attempt to use the concept of the Enneagram in a more visually interesting way.
This image connects each point in the Enneagram with two semi circles, rather than with a simple line segment. Each semicircle is divided into two concentric halves. By following the black arrows on the inner half of each semicircle, it is possible to traverse the enneagram in the correct sequence.1-4-2-8-5-7, 2-8-5-7-1-4, etc.
