The Audience
THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE is twofold. It is intended to serve both as an online reference for prospective employers, and as an e-commerce gallery for the sale of artwork and books that I have created in recent years. My belief — my hope, really— is that these two purposes reinforce each other for visitors to the site.
Employers will find a wide variety of material in a range of disciplines that I have created in service to previous employers and clients. You are encouraged to peruse these materials in detail, and to draw conclusions about the quality, creativity, attention to detail, and comprehensiveness that I can bring to your organization in these areas.
Art lovers will find an even larger portfolio of photography, painting, and vector artwork available for sale. Every piece is delivered as a museum-quality print using the finest archival materials available today. You will be absolutely delighted. Special arrangements for framing, metal prints, and rush orders are just a phone call or an email away, if that is a requirement.
The Technology
THIS SITE HAS BEEN BUILT on the Squarespace platform, which is unequaled in the simplicity of its management interface and the visual quality of its presentation on both desktop and mobile devices. Over the course of several years I have become an expert in the design, development, and management of websites built on the Squarespace platform.
This site extends the native e-commerce capabilities of the platform through the use of a sophisticated relational database management platform built on the Filemaker RDBMS with I developed for this purpose. This allows me to manage the content, presentation, and pricing of all the artwork—now several hundred pieces—on the site in a simple, efficient, batch-oriented fashion. Expertise in Filemaker is not something that I advertise professionally, but, like more conventional expertise in Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative Cloud technologies, it is integral to the suite of skills that I bring to the table in service to solving business problems in the development and delivery of compelling content.
